News Adobe Flash Blocked by Office 365
#1
Starting in January of next year, MS Office will be blocking Adobe Flash, Shockwave, and Silverlight from running on all Office 365 subscriptions.

These following controls will not be available during the allotted dates.

  • Controls are blocked in Office 365 Monthly Channel starting in June 2018.
  • Controls are blocked in Office 365 Semi-Annual Targeted (SAT) Channel starting in September 2018.
  • Controls are blocked in Office 365 Semi-Annual (SA) Channel starting in January 2019.
Some of the reasons for this block happening in the first place, is that because of the "insert Objects" option where you can insert videos into the current application in progress. They stateed that malware writers have been taking advantage of this option in quite a few malicious campaigns. Microsoft officials have stated that this decision was made after support for Flash was killed, as well as support ended for Silverlight, and the impending end of support for Enterprise in 2021.
