Do you or anyone keeps up with the news regarding America and China, specifically the tariffs that U.S President Donald Trump has put on goods imported from China, you will notice that China is feeling the heat, and with more tariffs likely on the way, some speculate that this could lead to a trade war.

Both America and China have been in an asymmetric conflict for a while now; America using their agency dedicated Cyber-units, and there is China with their fully dedicated Cyber-Army. Recently, there has been quite a bit of scrutiny over electronics manufactured in China. Talk of iPhones and various other devices being sent over with backdoors and other types or spyware pre-built into them.

There is a strong chance that this talk will bare a louder voice in the coming days, with the recent discovery of small microchips found built into server motherboards. The microchip is no bigger than a grain of rice, and the motherboards, manufactured in China, are placed inside servers that are utilized by many major tech companies mostly based in the U.S. These companies include Apple, Amazon, and others. The chips, though small, are only capable of two things, communicating with systems elsewhere on the internet and telling the servers to accept code from said systems.

This report was originally posted by Bloomberg, and its quite lengthy. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2018-10-04/the-big-hack-how-china-used-a-tiny-chip-to-infiltrate-america-s-top-companies The report goes on to state that Amazon originally found these chips in SuperMicro servers back in 2015. But as of today, both Amazon and Apple refute these claims, stating that they have never found any chips in any motherboards, and Apple actually ended its relationship with SuperMicro, which were the original designers of the motherboards, and that they have had no contact with state or federal authorities. They went on to state that Bloomberg might have confused a report from 2016 where an infected driver was found in a SuperMicro server in one of its labs.

SuperMicro as well as the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs have also strongly denied the findings, having given out strong and lengthy statements. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/...ng-respond

That was the news, have a good one folks.
