DeepFakes, something that have caused quite a bit of an uproar, have given cause for a new bill in Virginia centered around DeepFake revenge porn. Any instance of these being used in such a manner would result in a misdemeanor, up to 12 months in prison, and up to 2,500 USD in fines.
DeepFakes weren't always "near perfect", but they have been slowly getting better and better, with the most recent being DeepFakes of Mark Zuckerberg: Video can be found here.
Its feared that these could be used to subvert politicians right before an election, for blackmail against celebrities, etc.
We will have to see how far these are taken, and hopefully they are not used for anything too heinous.

That was the news folks, have a good day, and stay safe out there.
