Magecart, a hacker group best known for utilizing JavaScript to steal credit card details from users, have upgraded to targeting commercial routers based out of large hotels, casinos, airports, etc.
According to a report by IBM, Magecart 5 or MG5 is testing new malicious code which could be injected into JavaScript to be loaded by L7 routers. This is in line MG5's typical MO, which is to gather enough details from massive amounts of users by infecting third party software.
