Personal information of workers of the Scottish Ambulance Service was exposed in a data breach today. It is unknown whether it was due to a malicious actor or actors, on October 12th the NHS Ambulance Services Trust emailed all of its staff of the breach. It was stated by BBC news that names and phone numbers of all workers was available on their website that was accessible by the general public. As far as the investigation has revealed, no patients' information was affected.
This is yet another hit on the medical sector of a country, whether it was a random bug in the system or a targeted operation by hostile actors, it must be put forth that the medical sectors practice absolute cyber-safety, whilst in the work place and at home. This is imperative in a world where zero trust in necessary.
The medical sector is and always will be a target, of malicious actors of every caliber. If there was a bombing, and the hospitals in the surrounding area suffered a massive breach, so bad that they couldn't operate, it would be catastrophic.
That was the news folks, stay safe out there and have a good week.
