Hackers have been circulating versions of the New Zealand shooter's manifesto, as a trojanized version to infect computers. If anyone has been watching the news waves recently, New Zealand was tragically hit with a terrorist attack that was carried out by a far right wing individual, and cost the lives of 50 people.
He had released a manifesto that had circulated a few times around social media. While social media giants like Facebook had attempted to close down any copy cat accounts that were opened up. These were used to distribute the manifesto. It would seem that hackers, somewhere, had acquired a version of the manifesto and are using to distribute malware.
There seems to be no other motivation behind the attack other than disruption.
