Yahoo has finally reached a conclusion in a settlement worth 117.5 million dollars. This "revised" settlement is between Yahoo and a large number of users whose emails addresses were stolen in record data breach. This is reference to 3 separate data breaches that affected 3 billion users from 2023 to 2016.

The new settlement includes at least 55 million dollars for those who had out-of-pocket expenses and other costs. This is broken down into 24 million for two years worth of credit monitoring, about 30 million for any legal fees, and about 8.5 million for miscellaneous expenses.
