A breach of FBI affiliated websites has finally sent waves through the federal sector, when the records and personal information of federal agents and police officers was posted online. The total number of persons in this list totals 4,000 agents and officers.

The embarrassing part of this breach, aside from the obvious, is that the attackers exploited the websites using a public exploit; this can only mean that the websites were out of date. A serious security problem that was not noticed early enough.

TechCrunch stated that they spoke with the hackers, and from what was gathered, what was gleamed from that is that what information the hackers have is only a small bit of a larger stash.

The identities and official affiliation of the hackers remains unknown.
