Earlier this year, a man was arrested for utilizing a "BadUSB" or a USB Killer to others, and frying over 50 college computers. This happened on February 14th, when 27 year old Vishwananth Akuthota entered the college computer rooms, and filmed himself disabling the network.
In total he destroyed over $58,000 worth of computer equipment, with that said, as a part of his guilty plea, he will be paying the college back for all of the equipment destroyed, and the possibility of ten years in prison, with an extra two years supervision.
The reasons for this attack on the college, are as of yet unknown.
