An infamous ransomware, GandCrab, first discovered in January, 2018, has posted that it will be shutting down its operations, after a year in operation. It was stated by the operators that they earned a total of 2 billion dollars, and all of it was cashed out through legal vectors.
It was also stated by the operators that all affiliates must halt distribution of the ransomware within 20 days. It is unclear if the operators will release keys for anyone who is still affected by the ransomware.
