Red Security - Alert Issued for Ryuk Ransomware: Global Organizations Targeted.

National Cyber Security Centre [NCSC] has issued an alert for the Ryuk ransomware; the ransomware has been observed actively targeting global organizations that were associated with Emotet and TrickBot malware.

The new operation is reported to be spear-headed by Grim Spider, a sophisticated hacking group. How Emotet and TrickBot are being utilized in its attack chain is another example of how malicious actors can take something that may have already been defended against, and changed to become something that potential victims may not have defenses for.

Like the flue, something that was beaten, can still come back as something else, and cause havoc.
