A security researcher, Vasily Kravets, recently publicly dropped a steam Zero-Day, after having been banned from Valve's HackerOne bug bounty program. He had originally posted the Zero-Day to HackerOne, but his findings were rejected, having received the response that the problem would not be fixed.

This is typical of Valve, Kravets had also posted a bug to HackerOne earlier this summer, but that too was rejected; Valve does not have the best record when it comes to listening to those who report bug, much less about the bugs themselves.

In response, Valve has edited their bug bounty program so that it better fits the circumstances, and also have fixed the hole related to the Zero-Day.

As of now, Kravets has yet to be un-banned from the bounty program.
