In a report today by ZDnet, over 9000 cybercrime reports inside a police database were singled out by security software as containing malicious code, they were then quarantined by.

These reports are submitted through a London police ran website called Action Fraud, but due to a problem with the security software, many reports were mislabeled, and set aside, never reaching human operators.

So far, more than half of the reports have been taken out of quarantine, as the police work through the backlog. It was also reported that the problem lay somewhere in the IBM system, they are currently working with the vendor to resolve the issue.
