The EU has just announced it is going to draft a plan to help balance out Facebook's own digital currency, Libra. This is over some alarm by EU central banks and government officials who fear that Facebook won't be able to responsibly manage user funds. This alarm is of course justified in the wake of the Cambridge scandal.
A draft text is to be discussed this Friday, with another meeting discussing its adoption on December 5th.
