Over the weekend, a small set of people who use Google's email domain "Gmail" had an odd problem when they began receiving emails from themselves. These emails, which somehow also showed up in the "sent" tab as well, were sent to multiple unknown addresses. The messages themselves though only contained adds; most advertising "weight loss and growth supplements for men".

The messages also had forged email headers stating that they were sent from their own account, via the network of a telecommunication's company called Telus. The emails were able to get through Google's spam filter using the same user's account. Google was informed of the problem and employed the appropriate measures to insure the safety and privacy of its users.
