The cyber-world has been experiencing some tremors during this first week of  October; first it was the botnet campaign in Brazil and now the Apollo breach. The sales engagement startup "Apollo" suffered a breach and the loss of over 200 million database records. Apollo said in a email that the breach was noticed "weeks after system upgrades in July."

   They have also stated:

"We have confirmed that the majority of exposed information came from our publicly gathered prospect database, which could include name, email address, company names, and other business contact information. Some client-imported data was also accessed without authorization.”

While there was a hefty amount of contact information that was stolen, the company has confirmed that financial details of any kind are still safe. Tim Zheng, the Apollo CEO stated that the investigation is still ongoing and are only releasing information on the customer communication.

This is to be put next to the most recent data breaches, regarding Chegg and Sheln both of which was were in the last month or so.

   That was the news.

Have an easy week, and stay safe out there.
