Two Romanian men were arrested in Mexico, in a coordinated operation between municipal and military police. The two men: Florian N and Adrian Nicholae N were arrested for possession of illegal firearms as well as 500,000 pesos [26,000 USD]. Besides the money and weapons, the men were mainly arrested for operating an ATM skimming operation inside Mexico's popular tourist areas.

One of the two men was reported to be in charge of a relatively new ATM company, called Intacash. One key element of this company's standing was paying ATM technicians to compromise the ATMs of other companies in order to make them look bad.

This was cemented when researchers investigated the ATMs and found that they had a bluetooth signal that was used to send out bank details. Done in this way, the criminals do not even need to touch the ATM to gather what they need.

And finally, it was stated by authorities that Mexico has been reported to be a hub for Romanian nationals involved in ATM skimming operations.
