DJI, a leading market titan for commercial drones in the US, has begun laying the groundwork for starting the first US based production plant, specifically in California, this marks their first step as the company makes a turn towards producing specialized drones for the US government.

This is all despite a large measure of scrutiny by the US government, amid fears that sound, video, and flight data across all of their drones in the US, is sent back to their manufacturers in China. Even two representatives stated their opinions on the matter, one stating that they should outlaw the sale of Chinese made drones in the US, and the other simply stating that a number of users are afraid that their privacy may be at stake.

Despite this, DJI has stated repeatedly that user data is completely under the control of the user, and at any point that allow user data to be collected in any capacity, would have to be deliberately decided by the user.

Regardless, DJI is charging forward, and getting closer to their first plant, outside of China.
