Fixing Temporary failure in name resolution error in Debian - Mr.Kurd - 08-12-2019 In The Name OF Allah Al-Salam Alekum Hello guys , after a long time I have checked out one of my Virtual OS which Linux installed on, I got this error "Temporary failure in name resolution " while trying to ping or connecting to internet. So got the Idea why not sharing the solution with you . Okay first of all, make sure the DNS Resolver config is writable located here "/etc/resolv.conf" or directly make it writable by executing this command in terminal: PHP Code: sudo chmod o+r /etc/resolv.conf If you couldn't connect to internet yet, change the DNS to Google's nameservers temporarily: Open the DNS Resolver config in a terminal PHP Code: sudo nano /etc/resolv.conf Then change the IP Address to "8.8.8.8", CTRL+X then Press Y key to save the file. I hope this helped you out...... Wa Salam Alekum |
