Major Vulnrability Found in Volkswagen - Mad-Architect - 05-16-2018

In a recent report by a cyber-security group on Volkswagen, it was found that their IVI systems of some of their cars were vulnerable to remote hacking. Because of this, a hacker on end can attack and remotely the car's vital systems. The report and the research leading up to this, was headed by Thijs Alkemade and Daan Keuper. The led the research on the GTE Volkswagen and the Audi 3 Sportback e-tron, both of which faced some of the same problems, such as being able to listen in on conversations inside the car, and breaching the cars onboard address books and tracking the cars using their navigation systems.

These loopholes are dangerous, because it allows the hacker or hackers to use specific attack vectors without physically being in the car, and because of this, new threats are encountered and the cyber-security community as well as the internet community as a whole needs to be bright eyed and bushy tailed top ensure these and other loopholes are sealed up....quickly.
