Recently, the French government released its own chat app, called Tchap, as a way to protect private conversations from hackers, or state sponsored actors.
This is in light of other chat apps, like Telegram, or WhatsApp, not having the proper security that is needed for communication between government officials. But before it was launched, a major security flaw was discovered, one that allowed non-government officials to bypass certain conditions and read conversations between the french president and his colleagues.
Thankfully, the problem was fixed right before it was launched, As well, a bug bounty program has been put in place, to look for further vulnerabilities.
