Russia, a country steeped in history, had a bill introduced by its government's lower sector that is causing some groups to suspect that it could lead to internet censorship.
What the bill details is that all internet traffic going through or from inside the country, would be localized. Government officials have stated the reason for this bill is actually to protect the state; in the event of a cyber attack and/or if the internet is cut off.
Some are fearing that this could lead to a Russian "Great Firewall", but between the official statement by the government, and Internet Privacy Rights groups, its all just speculation. But given the track record of the Russian government, one cannot help but imagine a more tightly locked Russia.
