Canonical, the company behind the Ubuntu Linux distribution, had one of its main accounts on GitHub compromised, as far as their investigation has gleamed, none of the source code that makes up Ubuntu has been compromised. Canonical said in a statement that they have removed the compromised account. Canonical said they will release a second public update once the investigation has completed.
Lastly, Canonical stated they do not believe that no source code was affected, or that any malicious code was uploaded.
